With over 700 cabins to choose from on the Balmoral, you will be more than comfortable for the duration of your cruise on this ship of the Fred Olsen line. There are 21 different sizes and styles of cabins including standard and superior inside cabins, outside cabins with and without a balcony and a premier or superior suite.

The smallest cabins measure about 160 square feet and the largest, which are the premier suites, measure a whopping 430 square feet. These suites contain separate bedrooms and living rooms and are the top of the line when it comes to luxury accommodations. Singles taking a cruise on the Balmoral do not have to worry about sharing accommodations with strangers, as they would have to do on other cruise ships, because there are cabins for singles. Some of these have a balcony and although they are designed to accommodate only one twin bed, you can put another bed in the cabin if you wish.

Whereas the premier suites on the Balmoral have a living room, you can also have spacious accommodations in a Marquee cabin. This option is only slightly less smaller at 390 square feet and has a separate sitting room where you can entertain. The Superior suites, both inside and out, measure about 275 square feet. They also have a separate sitting room area and in the cabins that have a balcony, you enter the bedroom area first, then the sitting room and finally you can step out onto the balcony.

While all the bathrooms in the cabins are spacious, you have the added enjoyment of a bathtub and shower combination in the premier and superior accommodations. As a rule the standard cabins have only showers. All of them, though, do have a fridge and mini bar, as well as CD and DVD players.
The cabins that have balconies are furnished with comfortable patio furniture. This consists of a table, two chairs and two sunbeds, so you can sunbathe in privacy. The frames of the pieces of furniture are metal and although they may appear drab, being gray in color, they are water resistant and quite sturdy.
There are nine cabins on Decks 8 and 9 that are wheelchair accessible and have been specially designed to accommodate disabled passengers. The cabins that face the Avon and Spey restaurants are not the best choices if you want to have privacy when sunbathing on your balcony because you will be seen by those in the restaurants. If privacy is important to you on the Balmoral, then it is best to choose a cabin in the newly renovated section of the ship.

It is important to review the layout of the cabins on the Balmoral when you book a cruise. Some of the older cabins contain twin beds or one queen size bed and changes cannot be made to the layout of the space. In the newer section, however, you can choose to have twin beds that can be moved to make one larger queen size bed.

There is an interactive TV system in the cabins, but the number of channels you can watch depends on the location of the ship at any given time.
